Hi all I have some queries

I am simulating the flow of air at 6 bars of pessure through a domain with different inlet geometries and comparing the mass flow and velocity at my outlet. In one of the sims contour attached - I am getting max wall y + value upto 189 (when I added an inflation layer of 5.3e-3 mm)

As per K epsilon model it should be within a range of 30 to 300
for another inlet geom my wall y + is too high more than 1e3 ( not working with the same first layer thickness value of 5.3e-3 mm)

I am trying to check the mesh sizing at inlet

Currently I have 150 div at inlet which is 90 mm dia and 300 mm long

When i try to increase my no of division to 800 the meshing is taking too much time I am not sure when this would finish

Can some one please comment how do i attain all y + in this range 30-300 or is it not required as my goal is just to check vel and mass flow at my outlet (lower face of the domain attached)

I am using Kepsilon Model

Coupled Solver

Pressure Inelt Bc - 6 Bar ( Should I also define something at superonic inlet condition at pressure inlet as 6 bars of pressure would lead to supersonic vel as also seen in vel results )

Pressure Outlet Bc - 1 bar

Also while checking the velocity at my outlet which values should I consider
is the area weighted average , max minmia at outlet (from CFD PosT)

Kindly give your suggestions

Thanks

Hello

i know it's quite old but did you manage to do it? I'm having the same problem with a high pressure difference using rhoPimpleFoam

What do you recommend?

Thanks
