Hello to all CFD community,

I ran a simulation of periodic channel flow at Re_tau=395, with kOmegsa-SST-IDDES, but supplied k and omega as a fixed value and got very good predictions in the viscous and buffer layer but over-prediction in log layer and beyond.

I am well acquainted with the formulation of hybrid modeling approach i.e. RANS in the boundary layer and LES in the core region. But I have a doubt, are wall-functions necessary in case of RANS model, when applying hybrid RANS-LES?

Use of the wall function bc depends on the chosen grid resolution, not on the formulation
