I am trying make the setup of the impinging jet model : axisymmetric 2D impinging jet on a flat plate. How should the meshing be as I think making finer mesh near the wall of impingement should be necessary, is there anywhere else where I should be focussing for making the mesh finer ?
Also I am not able to decide which turbulence modelling to follow for the impinging jet. Please help and thanks in advance !!! |

You should consider the hiemenz flow with respect to the grid requirement especially in impingement area along the stagnation line. It has to be zero along the stagnation line by theory. As far as turbulence modelling is concerned, avoid using the k-epsilon as it is well-known for its stagnation flow anomalies ( the excessive generation of turbulence and negative normal stresses). Look up Durbin's model or you could try the SST k omega .
