I am simulating a flow over a circular cylinder 2D Re=100, and I would like to know what do you need to check to know your solution is correct? I did a simulation with a course mesh (2300 elements) and a fine mesh (25 000 elements) and my results from drag and lift was not all that different (see picture, 600 timesteps is course mesh), and the Drag and Lift results from literature vary a bit aswell.
What do you need do you need to check to be sure you have a good result? Is there some kind of list of things you need to check? You clearly cant check only Drag and Lift. In my fine mesh I have about 15 elements in my boundary layer and in my course mesh I have 1 element. |
