Dear Friends,
In case of flow around cylinder at Reynolds number Re=3900 (D=0.1m and Velocity=0.6) and domain is 3 dimensional. I am using ANSYS Fluent with LES model. I am getting good value of drag coefficient, recirculation length and angle of separation. The only concern is value of Strouhal number. Using FFT in ANSYS Fluent, I am getting St=0.14 which not agree with experimental and other numerical studies (St=0.21). If I calculate manually Strouhal number, still the result is St=0.14. I am using correct value of reference value due to which drag coefficient value is correct. At Reference option, I used the following value Length=0.1 Area= 0.04 (bcz length of cylinder is 4D) Can anyone suggest, why this error happen? Regards, Niaz |
