Hi All,
I am trying to run an ionized flow over a blunt capsule. I was able to converge a neutral mixture over the capsule. I am trying to restart an ionized case from the converged case. However, after a couple thousand iterations something strange is happening where the flow is coming from the wall (attached). I do not believe it is carbuncle because it is the same mesh where we converged the neutral mixture. In the attached picture, the flow seems to be coming from the walls. However, this is something that develops later in the simulation. I am trying to debug the problem and think it is something to do with the thermodynamic library and not the numerical solver. After this recirculation develops, the ion densities will go negative and the simulation will crash with the pressure becoming negative. Let me know if anyone has any advice on what could be the problem. Thanks, dream chaser |
