I have to fill a surface geometry mesh air and solids under pressure then I want to model its free expansion into connected vessel in FLUENT. How to?

How do I patch the initial conditions on a surface mesh (2D geometry)? If it is simple rectangle then I can specify coordinates from one end to other end but what if it is a complex geometry? How to patch and fill it with solids and compressed air initially?
