Hi all first post ,
I am trying to experiment in Autodesk CFD and am trying to understand how real world my results can be. Does CFD contain an inherently entropic term? - Does CFD limit progression to a lower entropy state ? Is this derived from the Navier Stokes equations thru viscosity or is it coded in ? |

Your question has not a rapid answer... CFD means nothing, you should refer as to the type of discretization. Entropy is a thermodinamic function induced by the solution of the other variables and is relevant for compressible flows. In this field you could find many references about the so-called "numerical entropy" associated to some numerical schemes. You could find useful a reading of the book of LeVeque. |
