Hi, dear Is it possible to use stream functions to calculate 2-D transonic flows? Is the compressible solution (Mach number) unique for a given stream function? Any references would be greatly appreciate.

(1). A. H. Shapiro, "The dynamics and thermodynamics of compressible fluid flow", vol.2, 1954, the Ronald Press, Chapter-21, transonic flow, section 21.5 relaxation method, p-836. (2). The stream function can be defined from steady,compressible,2-D continuity equation.
