Hello, I am doing some studies on the supersonic boundary layer transition by adding some turbulence at the inlet of the field. There are some intermittent phenomena in my results, I suspected that those phenomena are turbulence spots. Could someone tell me about the turbulence spots in detail.

Hi there!
My thesis is on turbulent spots in supersonic and hypersonic boundary layers. Would be happy to talk about them. Do let me know what you are looking for about turbulent spots. Cheers, Sree. |

thanks very much. I am using DNS to simulate the bypass transition. And I have read some articles about the turbulent spots. They said that the spots are intermittent phenomina, and they will grow up to merge with full-developed turbulence.
what's the vortex structures of the spots? how will the spots generate and develop? What should I do if I want to prove my results are real turbulent spots? thanks again. |
