Within the CFD community portable data formats like NETCDF, PDB, CGNS (ADF), HDF become more and more popular. In order to create an IO-System between various CFD-related tools, I intend to use one of those for implementation. Since I had experience only with PDB three years ago, I am interested in the pros and cons of each format and practical experiences.

Erich,
You might want to checkout the DTF library: http://www.cfdrc.com/datab/Applicati...DTF/index.html While you're in the CFDRC area, also checkout MDICE as it can (and has been used) as an IO-system between various CFD/CAE tools. -Richard |
