Hi,

What exactly is implied by the classification into various break up regimes based on Reynold's number and Ohnesorge number ?

If for a particular jet, the value lies in atomization regime, does it mean the jet would get atomized almost as soon as it leaves the nozzle ? The ohnesorge number doesnt seem to include the nature of atmosphere into which the jet emerges or the distance from nozzle tip and other parameters that might influence a jet breakup.

Or is it implied that if the jet belongs to first wind induced regime, it won't be possible for that jet to get atomised under any circumstances ?

In general, can a jet experience break up under a different mechanism other than the one to which it belongs based on Ohnesorge classification ?

Thanks for your replies.
