I have a problem generating mesh using pointwise for flow over a square cylinder. As I create mesh over my computational domain the software automatically creates mesh inside the square. How do I solve it?

A commonly used approach is just to delete exterior points (and elements if FEM) after the mesh is created.

why do you not create half grid and then use the mirror function to complete?

Yes , I tried doing that but I seem to be unable to keep the original grid. Only the mirrored grid remains.
