Hello Everyone,
I am new to CFD as well as to openFoam. I am trying a simple case of open channel flow using icoFoam solver. My geometry is a simple cuboid channel of width 0.4 m height 0.6 m and length 9m. I am neglecting the air above it and just solving it as a flow with water. The flow is steady uniform flow. Therefore the height of the water level and the velocity will be constant. I have specified my inlet velocity and have specified pressure at outlet as atmospheric pressure and have specified the viscosity of water in transport properties file. I have used salome to generate my mesh and then exported it as unv and created the polymesh folder for openFoam. When i run the case and use paraView to visualise it, I see nothing happening. Everywhere it shows 0 velocity except at inlet where it shows the velocity specified. I will be very thankful if anyone can help. I have changed my controldict file startTime 0; endTime 26; deltaT 0.005; writeControl timeStep; writeInterval 80; purgeWrite 0; writeFormat ascii; writePrecision 12; writeCompression uncompressed; timeFormat general; timePrecision 6; runTimeModifiable yes; but still nothing is happening Thanks in advance Last edited by yash lakhani; May 23, 2016 at 09:29. Reason: changed controldict file but still not working |
