Hi everyone,
I want to model a single Wind turbine with Actuator Line theory in openFOAM. but I just don't know which turbulence Model is the Best for this task. can you help me?
Thanks

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't actuator line theory used to look at effect of wake on a series of turbines (wind farm)? I'm not sure you will get anything useful out of this simulation with only a single rotor.

I am not familiar with openFoam but I have seen many people use Dyn. Smag. and simple Smagorinsky with AL LES simulations. the thing is you should have at least 15 points per blade.

maybe you find these interesting

and with almost the same authors another conf. paper

yes and no. you can use it anywhere you want as soon as you know why you're using AL.
