I am pretty new in this forum and I hope the experts here on this forum can help me:

As part of my studies i was assigned a project to evaluate CFD software for a Company. As i know nothing about CFD at all, I thought I'd ask you about it. Primarily I Need to know what programs are the big key Players. I was a bit lost when I saw the long list of solvers and visualization software. What are the programs that are most used?

The company for whom I am doing this project is in the clean room business. So they need a program that can simulate the distribution of foreign particles and the concentration of the desinfectant they use to decontaminate the clean rooms. The desinfectant is injected in two ways into the room. One way it gets vapourized and travels in the room around as steam, the other way is to spray it into the room with a nozzle. So the software should also be able to simulate small droplets. Maybe somebody knows the perfect software solution for this.

It would really help me if you can tell me the big, most often used standard programs. If somebody knows a specialised software that can simulate everything I described above I would be even more happy.

Ansys Fluent can handle all these problem very efficiently. I have done many projects in the specific area you mentioned.
