Hello everyone!
For my thesis work, i will need to simulate an entire city topography, Athina. It is 1000 km^2 . I tried to find its CAD but of course its impossible. Then i grabbed it from GlobalMapper but even the STL was 1 GB and my CAD programs (Solidworks, design modeller) do not let it work. So what would you guyz recommend me to do ? How do you think i can manage to simulate a whole city. |

you could try looking at tools like ArcGIS and deal with billions of cloud points to get your shape geometry. I would contact the city planners of that city. They should have the heights and shapes of the buildings. That is all you need unless you wanna include windows, trees, etc which would probably be a little overkill. I simulated something similar and I used autocad Civil.
