Hello all,

I am new to use multiple reference frame problems in ansys fluent. when we define interfaces in fluent, it defines two boundary zones ( side1 and side2) under boundary conditions.

Say Domain A spins at 100RPM, Domain B spins at -100 RPM. And If specify interfaces between these two, fluent generates two interface zones just as CFX. Should I have to edit those two new zones and change it to "moving zone" with moving RPM ?

or just leave it unedited ?

Thanks
Archep

If you have previously defined RPM for each domain, it means that they are moving zones. If not, you need to define them.

Thanks Hamid.

I did specify the domain motion.

Moving reference frame is for Frozen rotor simulation. (Yes you need to define interface for this (periodic repeats if you are modeling some portion)

Moving mesh is for sliding mesh simulation (Yes you need to define interface for this (periodic repeats if you are modeling some portion)

Mixing plane (defined separately in different panel) for mixing plane simulation. No need to define special interfaces. Moreover the boundaries should be defined as pressure inlet/pressure outlet or mass flow rate inlet/pressure outlet etc.
