I'm trying to model hydrophobic surfaces using Surface Evolver. The shapes of these surfaces are grid like structures of cubes. In order to model the surface tension I need to develop a constraint function that accounts for the cubes in the surface. So far my attempts have failed to develop anything that accurately follows the structure. I have attached an example surface I've built that does not include any tension modeling. In order to view it you will need to change the extension to .fe and run it with Surface Evolver. If anyone could help me understand how to model the surface tension I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi.
I want to do a similar project with surface evolver.
For my project, I defined a patterned surface exactly like the one you modeled. but I don't know how to apply proper constraints to model the contact of the fluid with the solid surface.
Have you by any chance figured out the solution to your problem?
Thank you.

Hi All
I am working on creating kelvin wet foam in Surface Evolver. There exist a significant amount of studies where people studied the random foam structures using Surface Evolver. The steps mentioned on the website are simple, however I am not able to convert dry foam to wet foam. I first run the twointor.fe and create dry Kelvin cells. Then I type read "wetfoam2.cmd" in command terminal followed by wetfoam >>> "wetfile .fe". But when I try to open the wetfile it shows the following error.
