Hi guys,

I have a project with Fluent. I set the geometry and mesh. But when i connect the mesh to fluent i get a message

"update failed for the mesh component in model. Error updating cell mesh in system model. View the messages in the meshing editor for more details."

When i look at the meshing editor as i suggested i cant find anything useful as you can guess. Also i looked at my file direction and i saw that there is no special character.

Interesting thing is this update problem doesnt occur always. Sometimes occurs sometimes not. But definitely occurs when the geometry is complex and big. E.g a centrifugal pump or an airplane etc. Everything that i try is useless. Help pls.

Thx.

Hey Kimicam

I am no expert, but a few more details would help in identifying the problem.

Details such as where you have made the geometry, the software used for meshing, what procedure you followed to make the mesh generally help.

If I were to say blindly, it could be when the edges of the geometry are not smooth enough. But as I said, state much more details and let's hope for the best.

First thx for reply

I got the geometry from grabcad as step. file. So i tell my story with more details.

1. I could analysis a centrifugal pump and my proffessor asked me what would happen if the blades have been reversed. So i reversed 180 degrees the part that rotates to get the blade position that i asked. Then i got this message.

2. My other proffessor asked me the coefficient of drag of SR71 airplane with Mach 3. However, i found a geometry in grabcad and i got it. But geometry is same scale with original size of plane. E.g 40 m lenght nearly. I made it ready for meshing and i set the mesh with body sizing, automatic method and refinement from all edges. But when i connect the mesh to fluent i get this message. But when i connect it to CFX i dont get this message and i can update the mesh.

I hope my explanation could tell the trouble enough. Thx again.
