i need to use fluent for chemical looping gasification. it involves biomass input + steam input.. in a fluidised bes. how many phases i should consider in fluent setup for multiphase modelling? 2 or 3? Anyone used multiphase modelling before?

Your question is not completely clear. Is the biomass a material for fluidization or does the bed composes of another material?? If biomass is the bed material, then You can define a zone in your mesh, where you can define the fluidized bed material and the void fraction. Then from the inlet, you will input the steam for fluidization. So only two phases are needed to be defined. If there is a third material as the bed composition, then the zone is defined for that material and you will input biomass and steam from the inlet. So there are three phases to be defined in this case. Decide which one of the above is yours. Regards |

yes, i feed biomass and steam both as input. and there is seperate bed material that is why i mentioned steam input + biomass input in a fluidised bed. thank you for your guidance!
