Dear Sir, I am new to cfd field. I have read in a paper that taking divergence of momentum equation gives poisson equation for pressure. Could anyone guide me how to take divergence.

TO drive the poisson equation, there are several sub-steps. The divergence is only a mathematical tool to take the term of derivatives. You can refer the procedure to derive the poisson equation from the system of equations including the continuity equation, momnetum eqn and energy eqn. See typical CFD books and Fluid Mechanics books.
