Hi,
I'm thinking of submitting my paper to AIAA's journal of aircraft. I looked thru some of the papers and it seems that every paper's author is a member of AIAA. However I'm not. None is my supervisor. I went to the website and they did not mention if the author must be member of AIAA. So is it necessary? Will it make any difference if the author is not an AIAA member. Thanks! |

No, it is not necessary to be a member.
Bear in mind there is a publication charge should your manuscript be accepted. |

More often than not papers in AIAA Journal are presented at conferences beforehand. Attendance at AIAA-organised conferences more-or-less requires becoming a member of their organisation, hence why authors on their papers are almost always AIAA members.
