Dear All,
I am using CFX + ANSYS to make a FSI but Ansys don`t work so good... so I need change it... I think Abaqus could be better... But can I use CFX with Abaqus? or I need MpCCI plus Fluent or Star-CD... Anybody know if is posible to make a FSI with OpenFOAM? Regards, Marcelo |

perhaps you can explain what "Ansys don't work so good" exactly means..is there a limitation in the ANSYS/CFX coupling which you have identified?

Abaqus will work with STAR-CD or STAR-CCM+ without needing MpCCI.

TG: "Abaqus will work with STAR-CD or STAR-CCM+ without needing MpCCI"
why "will work"? don't work now? And for Peter Attar... my problem is with Ansys... I said don't work so good... I need to solve a wrinkling problem in a fabric and then the inflounce of the wind in the fabric and obtain stress in the fabric... I red some paper with very good result in Abaqus for similar problem Regards Marcelo. |

I know what you said..I still don't understand what you mean by it doesn't "work good" Is the code having problems converging? Do they do not have the capability to model the physics( I am sure you can do wrinkling with ANSYS elements). Are your results not matching with experiment?
Instead of having to spend a whole lot of time trying to learn a new software it might be worth your time to figure out what exactly is going wrong with your simulation in ANSYS/CFX... |

Hello,
Ok this isn't all the problem... in my place is time to re-buy the licence of ansys of buy another (algor) so is time to said ok ansys work well or algor work beter... so isn't only my problem are a lot of user... but for the moment for my ansys don't match with my experimental results... but i am working hard to improve my results... so if you know how can i do a model for air supported structure... wrinkling with cloth option is not so easy... regards |
