Hi,

I am actually doing research on the coupling strategies employed in CAE programs, and how the CFD and CSD parts of the programs communicate with each others. It seems to me that most actual CAE programs are using either tight coupling, a linear structural solver add-on attached to a CFD program, or both codes are merged together into a larger CAE program. In all cases, the communication between CFD and CSD components is internal to the CAE program. Has there been any different types of implementations in recent years? I am aware of a few CAE programs that are, or have been used in industry/academia, but I would like to make a small survey on what programs are most widely used. If you know of CAE programs that are being used, could you please reply to this post, indicating the name of the program, and, if possible, the type of coupling that it makes use of. Any other insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

YAV
