Good day everyone,
In the past few weeks I have been looking at both the SIMPLE scheme as well as the Pressure Projection Scheme for State-state incompressible flows. In literature I have seen it mentioned that SIMPLE is far superior to the Projection method for steady cases. I have developed a 1D code for both schemes with the inlet velocity prescribed and outlet pressure prescribed. I am finding that the pressure projection method to be far superior to that of SIMPLE in terms of iterations and time required to get a uniform solution. This seems counter to what is mentioned in literature. Does this seem correct for anyone? Also does anyone have links to literature that explicitly looks at the differences/similarities for steady-state incompressible flows. Regards Matthew |
