Saw this adverts for Senior CFD Engineer role in UK look at the required qualifications.

"The ideal candidate will be qualified to HNC/HND in Mathematics/Engineering or a related discipline"

What kind of dimwhits write these things?

Having worked in the CAE department of a big automotive OEM, I can tell you that the FEA departments are largely staffed with HND qualified engineers, including some of the best engineers that I have ever worked with. If it isn't happening already, it's only a matter of time before CFD moves in the same direction.

Just how many degrees do you need to be a mesh monkey?

I wonder if a thousand grey-haired HND qualified grid monkeys working on a thousand computers can code the SIMPLE algorithm!
