Default Prob with sliding mesh for moving trains

Hello All

I am simulating flow around a moving train. I am trying to use the sliding mesh technique. I am trying to first do 2d test case assuming train to be a rectangular plate. The problem with the sling mesh is the fluid zone close to the train has to be given as moving mesh and some velocity is to be specified. But this seems as though the fluid region around the train is moving and the velocity contours are all coming accordingly... Can anyone suggest something.

Thanks Sid

hi
i am trying to apply sliding mesh technique to train moving in tunnel (2D analysis). i had done following steps
1. made two seprate modles in gimbit.
2. export them in fluent and fuse them their
3. apply grid check , and was done
4. now i am trying for boundary conditions(apply mesh motion) and grid interface but not able to do. plz can any one suggest me what to do and is my approach right. plz help me

Hey, everybody who knows this topic.

I am interested in this challenging engineering problem.
Could anyone share some experience, what kind of results you want to see?

The drag change with time? Or pressure change? Or what?

Thank you
