Default Error Estimation Multiphase Flows

I am able to compute local (cell) error estimates for a multiphase system . But I am not sure what kind of formulation should i use to obtain a overall estimate of the errors in the domain given the errors in each phase? Say error in phase 1 through the domain is err1 and 2nd phase is err2 etc... is there a way to compute overall err = f(err1,err2..) etc?

If someone can point me to background information for such a system, i would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

CFDtoy
