How the transition regime is resolved by the numerical analysis?

In the convective heat transfer simulation,the critical Reynolds number is 2300.In in laminar simulation,i choose the laminar model.RNG k-ε model is selected in turbulent flow. In the transition regime, how the transition regime is resolved by the numerical analysis.
