Default TVD limiters at boundaries

For a TVD limiter shown below

Q_j + 0.5 = minmod(alpha_j-0.5, alpha_j+0.5, alpha_j+1.5)

what happens if j+0.5 is at a boundary (i.e. wall, symmetry)? how should the limiter be modified for such situations?

Basically, you can use ghost cells, or not use any limitation process at boundaries.
