Wake Region in the TBL mean velocity profile

Hi everyone,
is the "wake region" typical of the mean turbulent boundary layer velocity profile at the end of the logarithmic region, in the outer layer, expected both in developing TBL and channel flows? or is it just typical of developing turbulent boundary layers? The wake region is highlighted in the figure linked here, at the right og the region where the profil follows the log law... it should be clear...
