Is there a company in the Detroit, Michigan area that can do a CFD analysis with a quick turn-around time?

It requires for instance real gas hypersonic flow for multicomponent mixtures. Do you think that anybody can do this very quick?

It should only involve supersonic flow, if that helps.

Can we slow down the airbag burse speed to subsonic to make the computations FASTER?

This is a compressible flow problem and needs to be treated as such. Is it fixed geometry? Basically, for a fixed geometry, multi-species, ideal gas, turbulent flow, it shouldn't take more than about a day or 2 to mesh and run. You could contact the guys at fluent to do this type of thing.

I took the Fluent training about 20 years ago. A team of classmates were from a rocket company located in Utah. They were manufacturing air bags for ???. They were trying to inflate the air bag (definitely a moving boundary problem). Don't know how it worked out for them.

With that in mind, I'd think it's chemistry, turbulence, compressibility, AND a rapidly expanding computational domain.

Perhaps more than a day or two to get results?

It is not ideal gas. You need real gas for multiple scalars (mixtures) and you will not find this feature in any of the commercial codes. The implementation in CFX is incorrect and takes ages to run it.
