Hi all.
I have just implemented the detached eddy simulation based on the Spalart Allmaras RANS model in a OpenSource code and I would like to test it in the decay homogenous isotropic turbulence test case, basically the well know Conte-Bellot and Corssin (CBC) experiment. I have saw a lot of DES papers using this experiment to calibrate the DES Constant and also to evaluate how the numerical dissipation is effecting the turbulence decay. The first question that arise is how I can create the initial conditions for the conservative variables based on the spectra of the experimental data presented here: http://torroja.dmt.upm.es/turbdata/a...hapter3/HOM00/ As I saw in the original paper of Spalart that after they imposed the initial conditions for the conservative variables, they freeze these equations and let the turbulence equations converge. Next, they start the unsteady simulation if this proper initial conditions. Any help is appreciated Eduardo Molina |
