Hi
I am currently working in industry and have been using the Autodesk Simulation CFD for modeling flow in industrial HVAC equipment. Some supervisors are interested in optimizing fans by altering blade shape or nearby geometries. It appears that most users of Autodesk CFD don't use it to resolve these smaller-scale interactions (...but I don't yet see any reason it wouldn't be viable). In just the short amount of time I have been using this package I have already identified many features that make it less useful for some applications that another package that I used in graduate school (STAR-CCM+, for instance, which gave me more options in model setup, mesh generation, etc...). Would Autodesk CFD be able to give me reasonable results or might I try to push for another package? I am already missing STAR but I realize that there is a significant price difference between the two. Thank you for your time. Regards, Dylan |
