Which CFD package is more suitable for carrying out simulations in which flows have particles in them. Like cyclone sperator of a CFB boiler etc?
Also will these be able to show me deposition rates? Thanks.☺ |

Hi,
I dont think there's a specific cfd code which can do this, you would have to couple an existing CFD solver like OpenFOAM to a DEM (Discrete element method) solver. |

MFIX has DEM capabilities. You may also be able to use the two-fluid Eulerian model (in MFIX, FLUENT, or others) to do deposition modeling.
