Question Aeroacoustic question for transient flow

taffyinoxon is on a distinguished road
Could someone tell me if it acceptable to use Curle and Proudman models for unsteady state flows. Size of file(s)/computing power limitations are making it problematical to use Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings models in addition to the other phyisics models I'm having to run.
