Hello,
Me and some colleagues have been studying CFD for some years now, but I feel my efforts could have been more organized. We have always used this forum as a reference but I would like to ask your help in a more specific way this time. Our goal is to develop some templates for typical Naval Architecture problems: * Separation Prediction * Resistance to Advance (Displacement through Free-Body planning conditions) * Open water propeller performance with cavitation * Coupled simulation between Resistance to Advance domain and propeller domain I'm aware that I should take these problems into steps, building from the most elementary cases to the most sophisticated, therefore I'm looking for experimental data to validate the models i create. So far what I have found is: Diverse - http://www.sourceflux.de/blog/valida...hydrodynamics/ Planning hull - Savitsky papers Open water propeller w/o cavitation - Wageningen Troost papers Separation point - Von Karman Street??? It may seem those are enough references but the data is somewhat limited for validation. If you have any references that you find that fits one of the problems even on a more simplified state, please share it with us. Thank you, Thiago |

For separation point validation a 2D periodic hill case might be useful:
http://turbmodels.larc.nasa.gov/Othe..._periodic.html There's a lot of LES/DNS performed on these cases and, if i'm not mistaken, also some experimental measurements. |

Thank you, the whole website seems like a good reference to check turbulence models. I'll add it to my list.

I had ran some wigley hulls and flow over cylinder, I will try to collate it all here.
For separation there is this very good thesis: http://www.turbulencia.coppe.ufrj.br...seDSc_JBRL.pdf unfortunatelly just in portuguese... |
