please help me create a geometry of a hexcan subassembly(hexagonal duct) containing 7 cylindrical pins (in 2 rings) and with a helical wire wound around each pin. I want to model the flow of fluid inbetween the channels, i.e. in the gap between the pins and hexcan. That is my computational domain.
I am too new to star ccm+ and facing issues with 3d cad which is integrated with it. what are the other options i have |

you can use the CAD provided with Star or you can use a solidworks/rhino/autocad and import into Star. if you are unable to do that, you can probably pay some one( one of your friends) to draw that up for you in a cad program and import it into star. there's a whole section with tutorials in the manual about cad and a whole section about importing geometries and or meshes if you use as stand along mesh program
