These are the different kinds available
DRP(explicit): Tam and Webb (1993),JCP Compact Scheme (Implicit , tri/penta diagonal): Lele (1992),JCP Maccormack (Bidiagonal,explicit): Hixon and Turkel, ICASE/LaRC workshop and there are some similar to these which you can find in the literature. |

hi, You can find a very good introduction to compact schemes in the book CFD by Peric & Ferziger. Before reading the papers mentioned by Harish, this content will help you to get some overview about it and helps you in better understanding of journal papers..
