hi,
i am simulating fully developed 3D-rectangular chnannel flow . The geometry is as follows---- top and bottom---wall(no slip b.c) spanwise side surface----symetric b.c outlet---Oranlski INLET----here i want to apply fully developed velocity profile. can anyone tell what should be the fully developed turbulent profile for rectangular channel. please be remember that, i am simulating this turbulence flow by means of large eddy simulation. 2. Also can any one tell, what should be the initial condition for velocity for the whole domain. thanks pankaj pankaj_online2@rediffmail.com |

Hi,
Why don't you use periodic BC if you want to to simulate a fully developed channel flow? |

hi,
The main motive of my channel simulation is to show the grid resolution near the wall. Then, with the channel i will fit winglet for heat transfer improvement...at that time the domain will be non-homogeneous.....so, i couldnot use periodic b.c. so, please can u help me inthis regard....with providing some paper... thanks pankaj |

This method is very effective.

hi, Arpiruk thanks for your reply. i will read the journal. can You please tell, is there any material on plane chanel flow. As, all the channel flow case people use periodic b.c in place of inflow/outflow b.c. Could , i use the same procedure as outlined in the paper u refer as the paper you mention is related to boundary layer, but my case is channel flow which is a internal flow.
thanks once again |
