hi,
I want to introduce a multigrid method into a navier-stokes solver. the basic idea is to combine to multigrid-strategy with a "good=fast && accurate" implicit solver. so, my first question is, what kind of solver would you refer me to? What do you think about Stone's SIP? Secondly, and want to know your thoughts in which way it is easy to introduce a multigrid-scheme. I think it is the easiest way to skip certain points of the solution in the solver. For instance, the solver calculates the solution of (n) and (n+2). Afterwards an approximate solution can be found for the grid-point (n+1). What do you think about it? ----------------------------------------------------- (n) (n+1) (n+2) x x x ----------------------------------------------------- Can you refer me to any literature concerning the subject of solving linear equations with multigrid strategies? |

There is a book published by SIAM titled A tutorial for multigrid methods or something.I do not remember the exact title. It discusses the fundamentals of the multigrid algorithm. You might want to look into that.
