Hi!!
I have developed a 3D unstructured grid solver, which can solve Navier stoke and species transport equation by segregated algorithm. Then I have simulated the problem of jet emerging in some space, domain for which i shown below. domain.bmp Then i simulated same problem in fluent. These are the plots of velocity at 4D distance from inlet (this is far wake) farwake.bmp I assume the species to be Temperature, so the species diffusion coefficient will become k/Cp, k=thermal conductivity. Basically, the Reynold No. of flow is 10, and the K=Cp=mu = 1. So the prandtl number will also be 1. Now, when the Pr =1 , the velocity and thermal boundary layer should coincide, but as you can see in the plots, the Velocity boundary layer is below the thermal boundary layer, both in Fluent and my solver. What does it imply? or am I doing something wrong/ plotting something wrong? |
