hie friend i am doing heat exchange from finned tube heat exchanger.
i just dont know how to proceed. i have to calculate nusselts number. pressure drop. outlet temperature. there is a steam condending in pipe. & the hot air is blown in cross flow manner to condense. to increase the heat transfer are fins have been installed. i am not conccerned of steam side. what i need is air outlet temperature. pressure drop of air air side nusselt number. i have to calculate friction factor & colburn factor. please let me know the solution model. energy equation kept on. how do i specify the air inlet & outlet boundary condition to know the pressure drop. |

Specify the things that are know to you. For air inlet you might be knowing the mass flow rate or the velocity of air or maybe temperature. So, specify the velocity inlet or inflow as the boundary condition. For the outlet you can specify pressure outlet.
I hope this answers your query... |

hie friends;
i want to do analysis of a plain finned tube heat exchanger...... i have modelled the geometry and i want to know how to mesh it for faster and accurate results........... i want to know the whole setup in fluent. the air is flowing over a two row finned tube heat exchanger.... |
