Could some one please clarify if the Spalarat - Allmaras turbulence model could model the eddies. Because I read through the literature that it is a one equation turbulence model for turbulence kinetic energy. I mean the turbulence eddies have to be either resolved by mesh or modelled, so how does the SA model deal with the eddies.

Also it is said that the SA model is specially meant for external aerodynamic flows but in such flows the turbulence eddies are significant.

Could someone please help me out with a clarification in this.
