mechfries is an unknown quantity at this point
Hello CFD Online,

I need to model in essence a concentric cylinders made of metal plates with about 20mm air gap between. I will be flowing air through the gap while the cylinder rotated. The air at inlet will enter at steady continous flow. I had the geometry drawn and figured out.

The problem is making it on ANSYS Fluent to measure its effectiveness and heat exchange rate.

Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to model it with rotating geometry? All I am finding is fluid flow in pipe flow but haven't found anything where the pipe actually rotates while fluid flows through.

Regards
Mechfries.

Try "rotating flow in annular cavity" key word e.g "http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/10618562.2012.677039#.U07Hviimerg"

Thanks for the link but I'm in no mean of purchasing that document.

I found this if anyone cares https://ujdigispace.uj.ac.za/bitstre...pdf?sequence=1

Going to need to do a bit more research to have multiple concentric cylinders which rotate in sync
