hello,
I have a problem when I look through the paper---Detached-Eddy Simulation of Airfoil-Endwall Secondary Flow. The inlet conditions were generated by running a separate turbulent flat plate simulation with the same Reynolds number and freestream values as the airfoil-endwall junction experiment. I really do not know what the meaning of running a separate turbulent flat plate simulation; and I don't know how can I make it in my program. thanks! |

It is done to specify a more accurate inlet condition for velocity, K and epsilon. Since the inlet of airfoil case is fully-developed turbulent flow, the variable values of this turbulent flow is obtained from flat plate simulation with same reynolds number and freestream velocity(to guarantee physical similarity of both flows ).
Sorry,I don't know how to implement it. My guess providing outlet of flat plate as inlet for airfoil. Mapping the field. |
