Default power input / output help

Hi,

I would like to find out how to calculate power input / output for a moving airfoil.

p(in) should be thrust * vel. -> should be quite certain

p_in = - Lift (L)(t)*dy/dt - Moment (M)(t)*d(theta)/dt ->

I got this from some papers, which is amount of energy imparted to the airfoil for it to overcome the fluid force.However, the case considered was for an airfoil moving up/down and pitching. What I'd like to know is if the airfoil is also moving sideways (left,right), will I have to add - Drag (D)(t)*dx/dt?

thanks alot!
