Default turbulence source terms

Hello, is it better in the source terms of the k-epsilon equations to add the terms using DMAX1 or DBS? For example: SU=SU+C1*CMU*GEN*VOL*DEN*DABS(TE)/VIS OR SU=SU+C1*CMU*GEN*VOL*DEN*DMAX1(0.0,TE)/VIS

In other words, is it better to ommit the source terms, when in the beginning of the simulation (large residuals) sometimes k gets negative values, or to take its absolute values?

Thank you in advance
