I've just started to learn modeling and simulation using Fluent/Ansys. I've no idea about how I'm going to solve my PhD problem. I would like to seek advice on the following problem. Please explain how should I start and what are the steps in solving this problem.

How to study the heat transfer, wear and shear between two sliding plates that are lubricated? Case-1: Lubricant is pure without any additives Case-2: Lubricants contains additives including nanoparticles to enhance thermal conductivity, rheology and friction properties of the lubricant.

Or this problem could be defined in a better way?
